Product description and variety

Household textiles, frequently referred to as soft furnishings, are fabrics which are used on a daily basis in the home. Items used are commonly classified as linens and some of these items can be used for bedding and curtains, sleeping bags, home furnishing fabrics, bedspreads, blankets, pillows and pillow covers, cushion and cushion covers, carpets and rugs, wall hangings, towels, table cloths and mats, kitchen linen and kitchen accessories such as pot holders or oven mitts. Textiles are made from many different materials but with four main sources: animal (wool, silk), plant (cotton, flax), mineral (asbestos, glass fiber), and synthetic (nylon, polyester, rayon). Household textiles are most commonly made of cotton, synthetic fabrics, or blends. It is very important to properly take care of household textiles since we come in contact with them on a daily basis. Cleaning household linens is done accordingly to the type of the cloth. If the linen is made from natural fibers such as linen or cotton it should be rinsed as soon as possible in cold water.

The market and success of household textile products

The global home textiles market size was valued at USD 94.73 billion in 2018 and is expected to register a CAGR of 5.01% from 2019 to 2025. Growth in end-use sectors, such as hospitality and residential, along with the rising awareness about changing home décor trends is estimated to drive the global market. The bedroom and kitchen linen segment led the global market with a value of USD 32.13 billion in 2018. Bedspreads, blankets, pot holders, oven mitts and aprons were the highest selling products, which helped the segment maintain the dominant position in the market. In recent years consumers have been opting for private label brands far more than the national brands. This change is most likely due to consumer awareness of the quality and affordability which private label brands offer. Private label brands are constantly improving household textile products to make them more durable, safe to use, environment friendly and affordable while keeping up with the expected quality.
